CHIKARA: Add one snake, one pharoah, and one mummy to King of Trios 2008!
It will be made up of 84 fighters from around the world - making it the biggest tournament in pro-wrestling history. It will be seen by fans from across the globe - many of whom are making the trek to South Philadelphia to see it live. It will be covered by print and online press outlets in a dozen or more languages - making this year's installment of the mighty King of Trios into the highest-profile weekend in our company's lifespan. And so far, the 24 announced trios represent 18 different wrestling organizations from all over creation - not just CHIKARA, but ROH, CZW, IWA:MS and more - like Canada's IWS and BSE - or Mexico's IWRG and Promociones Mora - or Japan's DDT, Wrestle Land, El Dorado - or British independent IPW:UK. There's also some sea monsters and a bunch of goats coming.
Today, we add a threesome seemingly plucked from the Egpytian pyramids - CHIKARA's Osirian Portal, the venomous Ophidian and our resident funky pharoah Amasis will team up with a mummy. And not just any old dusty thing they found rolling around - we're talkin' about Mecha Mummy. Thanks to cooperation from our good friends at DDT, and with sanctioning from the United Nations, this true wrestling terrorist will return to the United States for what will most likely be his only 2008 appearance here, at the exceptionally large King of Trios.
We've added hotel and travel information to our site to help those looking to stay in the area for King of Trios weekend, and there will be a special fan conclave held on Saturday afternoon for fans to attend.
